What is club level at a hotel?

Some hotels and resorts offer “Club Level” rooms that generally cost more money, and these rooms are always worth looking in to. Most of the time club level, or concierge service, will include a continental breakfast that is only for club or concierge level guests. Many hotels also offer nightly snacks, upgraded bath amenities, and other little perks that might make your stay even more enjoyable.

I recently stayed at the Grand Hyatt in San Francisco’s Union Square, and booked their Grand Club Room. When I stepped foot into the room I was greeted with an amazing view of the city and the bay beyond. The club rooms at this particular Grand Hyatt are on its top floors, so the views are spectacular. That evening I checked out their club lounge for their club guests. They served cheeses, crackers, fruit, prawns, and other goodies. There was an inexpensive no-host bar, free coffee and cappecino bar, and the entire room is flanked by large windows with that same great view of San Francisco and the bay. There were couches and comfortable lounge chairs, and a large plasma TV.

The next morning I tried their continental breakfast, and it was wonderful. They had a few hot items including a frittata, and they offered the normal, yet upgraded, continental offerings.

One of the other great things about most club rooms that is often overlooked is the upgraded amenities in the room itself. Some hotels offer club guests upgrades like L’Occitane bath products, pillow top Grand Beds, plush bathrobes, and luxurious bedding. You cannot really put a cost on that, but the value of a comfortable nights sleep is priceless.

When you are traveling somewhere with kids you should definitely check out the club level. Some resorts, particularly around amusement parks, will offer snacks throughout the day, and you can stock up before hitting the rides. The staff in the club or concierge lounges can also help with things like heating up bottles for babies, making reservations, and printing boarding passes.

Sometimes spending a little extra up front can save you money and enhance your experience while you are on vacation.
