The cost is $22 per daughter/mother pair. ($12 for another 3rd or 4th grade daughter participant).

The workshop’s coordinator, Miriam Keller explains, “We, the American Association of University Women (AAUW) believe that girls need to be introduced to the stem subjects (science, technology, engineering and math) early, and shown that they are fun and exciting. These core areas are also important for the transferable skills that they develop.”

Advance registration is a must. Participants will be assigned to five classes from the selection of 9 topics offered. One of the classes is a show in the Hopkins Planetarium and the others will be assigned in the order received.

These are the workshop selections: Planetarium Show; Electrical Circuits & Electromagnetism; London Bridge is Falling Down; Origami - Magic Circles; Gravity Defying Frogs; Dry Ice is Nice; Levers & Pulleys: Can You Lift your mom with one hand?; Can Bubbles & Black Light Keep You Healthy?; and Try Tackling Tessellations.

AAUW will provide beverages, snacks, and a folder with fun stuff to take home. Dress warmly and comfortably. The event will be educational and lots of fun.
