Alameda County Sees Increase in Pertussis (Whooping Cough) Cases
Alameda County, and California in general, are seeing a marked increase in the number of cases of pertussis this year. Although pertussis is endemic to our region the data for 2018 looks similar to early 2010 and 2014, both years that California experienced a pertussis epidemic. The largest increase is in 14- to 17-year olds. Here is a link to a pertussis update from the Alameda County Health Department for more information: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YQEX64KS6Ef-CBN4L6nuqfY9KV1CQAdJ/view
