Submitted By Carmen Phung
Almost 100 guests including family, friends, and Newark city officials were on hand to celebrate the recent opening of a new PEL Learning Center in Newark. According to officials from the center PEL is an acronym for preeminent learning. The PEL philosophy is to help students achieve full potential; along with success at high school math and reading. Their unique methodology is targeted with an individualized lesson plan that is aligned with the K-12 grade school curriculum in English Language Arts and Mathematics.
Among Newark officials at the April 28 ribbon-cutting celebration were Newark Mayor Alan L. Nagy, Vice-Mayor Michael K. Hannon, Chamber of Commerce of Newark President Valerie K. Boyle and David Bible from the leadership team. PEL officials included Kenny and Carmen Phung.
Located in the Lion Center Shopping Plaza at 39153 Cedar Blvd., the center is now enrolling students. Parent orientation sessions are offered weekly by appointment. For details, call (888) 735-6284.
