Las Positas, Chabot students may apply for scholarship
Las Positas and Chabot students majoring in an allied health-related field are encouraged to apply for the Barbara and David Mertes Memorial Allied Health scholarship, with award winners receiving up to their full cost of attendance. Additional scholarships also available to all eligible students.
Eligible applicants must be enrolled in an associate of arts, associate of science or AA/AS transfer program in biology with an emphasis on allied health, dental hygiene, emergency medical services, health care management, licensed vocational nurse-registered nurse (LVN-RN), medical assisting or nursing and paramedic program, have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing at their school, have completed a minimum of 12 semester units by the end of the fall 2017 term and currently enrolled in at least six units with the exception of new, veteran students whose first term is spring 2018. International students with an F1 VISA are also eligible to apply.
Applications must be completed online and students are required to upload an unofficial academic transcript, which can be ordered from the Admissions and Records office. Unofficial transcripts from the Zone or Class Web will not be accepted. Scholarship applications are required to be submitted by Sunday, March 11 at 11:59 p.m. for a student to be eligible.
Funds will be awarded in the spring and available for the 2018-19 academic year. Scholarship winners will be notified through their college email address in early May. Scholarships are made possible through the efforts of the Las Positas College Foundation and generosity of private donors.
