Tuesday, June 20
At around 6:50 a.m. officers were dispatched to the 34500 block of Alvarado Niles Road on the report of a man with a gun. During an argument, a male suspect brandished a gun at two victims and threatened to kill one of them. The weapon turned out to be a realistic-looking BB gun. Davinder Kumar, a 35-year-old Newark resident, was arrested on suspicion of brandishing an imitation firearm.
Wednesday, June 21
At approximately 2:50 p.m. Officer Martin was dispatched to the Union Landing shopping center on the report of a robbery. The victim said a man opened the unlocked front passenger door of her vehicle and removed her purse. When she chased him to his vehicle, he pushed her to the ground. The suspect was described as a black man, between 30 and 35-year-old, standing about 5-feet-8-inches tall, with a muscular build, and a circular tattoo near his left eye. The vehicle was described as a gold, mid-1990s, four-door sedan.
At about 10 p.m. Officer Paul was dispatched to the 4200 block of Comet Circle on the report of a carjacking. The victim agreed to give some acquaintances a ride Òhome.Ó While the vehicle was stopped on Comet Circle, one of the suspects walked around to the driverÕs door, pulled him out of the vehicle, and drove off. UCPD detectives are working this case; the suspects have been identified.
Friday, June 23
Around 12:30 a.m. officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of Decoto Road on the report of a battery on a person. Upon arrival, they met a victim with a large amount of blood on him and determined he had been stabbed. The following three suspects were still in the vicinity and were arrested on suspicion of battery and assault with a deadly weapon: Khoa Huynh, 26, of Union City, Minh Huynh, 28, of San Jose, and Mohamed Norai, 30, of Union City. Trinh Nguyen, 28, of Mountain View was also in possession of the keys to a vehicle reported stolen out of Fremont, and was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft.
