New course offers secrets to success
Submitted By Neal Greenberg
At every stage in life people are asking the same questions. What do I want to do for the rest of my life? And how do I get there? Young adults in their twenties are looking for a career that will make them feel fulfilled. Those in their thirties to fifties may be unsatisfied with their current career or think they could do better. Those who are sixty or older are thinking about an encore careerÑsomething meaningful to do after they cut back or retire. At some point, people begin to realize that there is more to life than a good career.
Beginning Wednesday, November 16, Rabbi Moshe Fuss of Chabad of Fremont will offer a new six session course from the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute (JLI) called ÒHow Success Thinks: Jewish Secrets for Leading a Productive Life.Ó The cost of the 6 week course is $99.
At the core of ÒHow Success ThinksÓ are six key productivity concepts, from motivation and goal setting to creativity and relationship building, which explain why some people get so much done. Drawing on 3,000 years of Jewish wisdomÑas well as some of the latest findings and fascinating case studies from neuroscience, psychology, and behavioral economicsthis eye-opening course explains that the most productive people on earth donÕt merely act differently? they view the world, and their choices, in profoundly different ways.
ÒMost people donÕt have a clear picture of what they want to achieve in their lifetime,Ó said Rabbi Fuss, the local JLI Instructor in Fremont. ÒIn the course, participants will have a chance to explore their own definition of success, and then create a road map to equip themselves with the tools theyÕll need to make that goal a reality.Ó
ÒHow Success Thinks,Ó is accredited for continuing education for medical and mental health professionals. Like all JLI programs, this course is designed to appeal to people at all levels of knowledge, including those without any prior experience or background in Jewish learning. All JLI courses are open to the public, and attendees need not be affiliated with a particular synagogue, temple, or other house of worship.
Interested students may call (510) 300-4090 or visit www.myJLI.com for registration and for other course related information. JLI courses are presented in conjunction with Chabad of Fremont.
