Doctor dangers explored at Lifetree Cafˇ
Submitted By Craig Cable
The dangers of medical mistakes will be discussed at Lifetree Cafˇ on Tuesday, June 3. The program, titled ÒDoctor Danger: What Every Patient Needs to Know,Ó features a filmed interview with Dr. Martin Makary, a cancer surgeon at Johns Hopkins Hospital and author of Unaccountable: What Hospitals WonÕt Tell You and How Transparency Can Revolutionize Health Care.
ÒThere are lots of things hospitals donÕt tell you,Ó says Makary. ÒAs many as 25 percent of patients are harmed by medical mistakes. ItÕs an epidemic, and it kills more people than HIV and car accidents combined.Ó
Lifetree Cafˇ is a place where people gather for conversation on life and faith in a casual coffeehouse-type setting. Admission to the 60-minute event is free.
