Pennies for Patients Jog-A-Thon
Submitted By The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Ð Greater Bay Area
The Stratford SchoolÕs, Curtis Campus in Fremont, hosted a Jog-A-Thon on March 28 to benefit their Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) ÒPennies for PatientsÓ campaign, a fundraising effort that allows students to collect spare change to help fight blood cancer. This was the schoolÕs fourth year hosting the Jog-A-Thon and they raised $18,204.15. Since 2010, the students at this campus of Stratford School have raised a grand total of $43,301.97!
The top students from this yearÕs ÒPennies for PatientsÓ Jog-A-Thon included Arya who raised $1,560 and Divisha who raised $1,173. Divisha is in the third grade and every year her birthday falls during the schoolÕs ÒPennies for PatientsÓ campaign. This is the second year she asked for donations to their Pennies for Patients campaign, instead of gifts for her birthday.
Ellie Tariverdi is the principal of the school and Arlene Lim is the LLS Pennies for Patients program coordinator.
