What if Jesus never came, É until today!
The Twelve is an Easter drama that looks at the life of Jesus and His ministry from the perspective of His followers, twelve ordinary men from different walks of life that each need to decide if they will truly believe that Jesus is the Son of God or not. What makes ÒThe TwelveÓ different from any other Easter inspired play you might ask? It takes place in the year 2014.
ÒWhat we are trying to explore here is what the world would look like now if two thousand years ago Jesus didnÕt come, but instead started His work for the first time in the year 2014. What you would have is a world that is completely different and even more importantly a people that are completely different. That is my favorite part of this project; you donÕt have characters that are difficult to relate to. The twelve are made up of athletes and techies, fishermen and businessmen, and everything in between. You also get to create a racially diverse cast without losing authenticity. Anyone that goes to see it will relate to someone in the show.Ó
ÒThe Twelve,Ó written and directed by David Roberts, opens on Friday April 18 with two more performances on Saturday April 19. Tickets are $1. Free refreshments will be served before and after the show.
