Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested

Submitted By Lt. Sandy Holliday, Milpitas PD

On January 2, 2013 at 2:03 p.m., the Milpitas Police Department received a 9-1-1 call from a victim reporting an armed robbery that had occurred on South Main Street at Carlo Street. The victim reported two suspects pointed a revolver at him and his wife and demanded their wallets. Both victims complied. The suspects started to leave the area, then returned and demanded the victims' cell phones. Both victims, again, complied and gave the suspects their property. The suspects walked away northbound on South Main Street.

The suspects were described as white male adults, with the one holding the gun dressed in a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and wearing black gloves. Milpitas police officers arrived within 27 seconds. Within an hour, their investigation led them to the suspect's location in the 100 block of North Milpitas Boulevard at Calaveras Boulevard. At approximately 3:05 p.m., officers took both suspects into custody. The officers recovered most of the victims' property and a loaded revolver handgun in the suspect's possession.

Nicolas David Gjers of San Jose and Stanley Allen Arnold, transient, were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for two counts of robbery, burglary, conspiracy, felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and carrying a concealed firearm in a public place with the intent to commit a felony.
