Nominations open for Alameda County Women's Hall of Fame

The Alameda County Women's Hall of Fame will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary in March 2013, continuing to honor extraordinary women leaders - from trailblazers to unsung heroes - who serve the Alameda County community with passion and purpose, and make a positive impact on the lives of others. The event raises funds for local organizations advancing social well-being and is a beacon of empowerment and inspiration for tomorrow's leaders.
Nominations are now being accepted for outstanding women in 12 categories: Business and Professions; Community Service; Culture and Art; Education; Environment; Health; Justice; Non-Traditional Careers; Science; Sports and Athletics; Philanthropy and Youth. The deadline to submit nominations is December 14, 2012.
The 20th Annual Alameda County Women's Hall of Fame luncheon and awards ceremony will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013, at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral on Lincoln Avenue in Oakland. The event will be hosted by the Alameda County Board of Supervisors and the Alameda County Commission on the Status of Women.
