Fall Booklegger orientation and training
Submitted By Gail Orwig
How would you like to have children hanging on your every word? Bring together books, children, and libraries through community service? Become a Booklegger and experience the satisfaction of bringing the joys of reading to children in grades Kindergarten through eighth.
Eight weeks of training at the Fremont Main Library will introduce volunteers to booktalking, reading aloud, and storytelling skills; regular visits in the Fremont Unified School District will follow. Training sessions will be held on Tuesday mornings, 9:15 a.m. - 11:45 a.m., September 25 through November 13. An orientation meeting for prospective volunteers will be held on Tuesday, September 18 at the Fremont Main Library in Conference Room A from 2 p.m. - 3 p.m.
If you can commit three to four hours a week to this Award-Winning Program, or have any questions, please call the Children's desk at the Fremont Main Library, (510) 745-1421, and ask for Gail or Karen. Come join us for an exciting volunteer opportunity!
