Henry Kwong, Milpitas PD On Friday, August 3, 2012, at approximately 6:59 a.m., Milpitas Police Department and Milpitas Fire Department personnel responded to a traffic collision between two vehicles at the intersection of Jacklin Road and Hamilton Avenue. The driver of a white 1997 Mitsubishi Galant sedan, a 65 year-old male Milpitas resident, was transported by paramedics to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The other driver of a tan 2004 Volvo XC90 SUV, Mr. Adam Close, remained at the scene and did not require any medical attention. Officers conducted a DUI investigation and determined Mr. Adam Close had been driving under the influence of alcohol. He was booked into the main jail for vehicular manslaughter. The investigation is on-going, and officers are seeking any witnesses who might have seen the collision.
