July 3, 2012 > Abode Services thanks Fremont Elks Abode Services thanks Fremont Elks Submitted By Katie Derrig Abode Services would like to thank the members of the Fremont Elks Lodge #2121 for their "home warming" donation to a formerly homeless family at Sunrise Village Emergency Shelter. Lodge members provided this family with a basket of household items (including bedding, towels, and cleaning supplies) to help them settle into their new apartment, which they secured during their stay at Sunrise Village. "This donation is just the most recent example of the Fremont Elks Lodge #2121's generosity toward families in need here in our community," said Abode Services Executive Director Louis Chicoine. "For well over a decade, the Lodge members have given both monetary and in-kind donations to Abode Services, making a real difference in the lives of people in our community who are experiencing homelessness. We are very grateful to have the Elks as a community partner, and for the members' thoughtfulness and commitment to service." Sunrise Village Emergency Shelter, located in Fremont, provides shelter and services to as many as 66 adults and children at a time. Residents receive three daily meals, housing and job search assistance, budgeting and life skills support, and other services that assist them in regaining self-sufficiency.
