Ode to the school year that passed
By Nishevitha Ramesh
In tribute to recent high school graduates, the following poem was submitted by a fellow student...
Four seasons pass by me, As they merge into three, Summer, fall, and spring.
I feel as though I have come to the end of my simple path. I will meet the crossroads of destiny, Where I will choose what is right for me. And this is where I am right now.
There will be one, and only one path that I choose, And there is no looking back. So let me look back now, reminisce, and try to still the memories in my thoughts, as I step into a whole different world.
I look back to the fall, where everything, was anew. A feeling of nostalgia rushes over me, as I smell my musky wind coat, A faint scent of my light perfume, and the familiar feeling of anxiety at the pit of My stomach.
I go back to the first day of high school. Amazing at first, new surroundings and people, fascinated me. Weeks and months passing by, left me to experience high school it at its best. Fascination was replaced by a feeling of comfort, safety, and of course, boredom. Nothing ever shines like the first time.
But nonetheless, I knew that the Warriors were now my official mascot. There was no turning back now. And, Mission San Jose was my home for the years to come. |
