June 1, 2012 > Fremont Fire Department Seeks Volunteers Fremont Fire Department Seeks Volunteers The Fremont Fire Department Smoke Detector Program is seeking adult volunteers to install smoke detectors in the homes of the elderly, disabled, and low income families. The ideal volunteer will be available during normal business hours (Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm), and have the ability to safely climb a ladder and use a cordless drill to install detectors. Hours per week will be determined based on demand but typically average eight to ten hours.
