Water Agency hosts tour of facilities

A unique tour of Alameda County Water District (ACWD) and Region 5 agency facilities will give the public an inside look at how water is transported to our area and protected from interruption. Guests will visit the ACWD recharge facility, inflatable dams, quarries and fish screens as well as the historic Sunol Water headquarters and restored Sunol Temple. The tour will include the multi-million dollar Hetch Hetchy Water System Improvement projects, Irvington Tunnel, water treatment facilities and seismic upgrades.

A program and networking reception will be held Sunday, June 3 at Fremont Marriott. Tour will begin at 8:30 a.m. June 4 at Alameda County Water District headquarters, 43885 South Grimmer Blvd., Fremont. It is expected that the tour will end at 3:00 p.m.
A registration fee of $50 includes lunch, materials, transportation.
