Sato, Union City PD January 22 At approximately 6:11 a.m., Union City Police responded to a report of a person down on Alvarado-Niles Road near Union Square Drive. Upon arrival, officers found an unresponsive male with injuries suggesting he had been struck by a westbound vehicle on Alvarado-Niles Road. The male was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending confirmation by the Alameda County Coroner's Office. The driver of the vehicle involved in this collision fled the scene and has yet to be identified. The collision is under investigation.
