December 2, 2011 > Newark Memorial High School Cougar Wrestling Newark Memorial High School Cougar Wrestling Submitted By Coach Tim Hess Thirty-three Cougar Wrestlers competed at the Central Valley Wrestling Invitational in Ceres on Saturday November 26. The tournament was a great opportunity for our novice, JV and the Lady Cougar wrestlers to get to get some quality early season competition. The Lady Cougars were led by 1st place finishers: Melanie Silva (4-0, 4 pins), Erica Contreras (3-0, 3 pins) and Melissa Magallanes (3 pins). Alyssa Vargas placed 2nd. For the novice boys, Kyhree Mackey and Bryon Jones were champions of their bracket. Anthony Thepkaisone 2nd, Andrew Padilla 2nd, Pakon Saksrithai 3rd, Chris San Pedro 3rd also performed well. In the JV division, Jeremy Hebert and Joe Angeja both finished 2nd in their bracket. Congratulations to ALL Cougar Wrestlers who competed.
