Scout Day and Dragon Boat Race
The Mission Peak District (MSP) of the Boy Scouts of America will be holding its second annual Scout Day at Lake Elizabeth on Friday, September 23 and Saturday, September 24.
On Friday, Scout Day will start with camp setup for overnight camping. More than 500 scouts from MSP will participate in the campout. Saturday will be a fun day for everyone beginning with a 7 a.m. early morning reveille. After breakfast, activities will commence with a Flag Ceremony at 8:30 a.m. followed by Dragon Boat racing and scout games. During the dragon boat race, there will be a performance by Taiko Drummers at 11:30 a.m.
Finals of the Dragon Boat Race will be at 1 p.m. followed by a Ballista Challenge.
Scout Day activities are being organized by a group of dedicated scout leaders: Steve Armstrong (Chair), Gary Ely, Don Uriu, TC Noble, Joe Barton and Steve Cho.
All activities will take place next to the Boat House (Area C) on Sailway Drive. The public is invited to come watch the dragon boat racing, Taiko Drums, and scout games.
