Rally for Michelle Le

Submitted By Andrew LaMar

Senate Majority Leader Ellen M. Corbett (D-San Leandro) attended a rally on August 27, 2011, for missing East Bay nursing student Michelle Le that commemorates the three-month anniversary of her disappearance.

The event took place at 3 p.m. in Hayward's Mt. Eden Park and included a balloon release for people who had written messages of goodwill to Le.

"My heart goes out to Michelle Le's family which has done everything possible to find her and speed the investigation into her disappearance," Corbett said. "It's frightening and sad when someone as bright and talented as Michelle goes missing. I join the area's concerned citizens who wish her well and have pledged they will continue to assist efforts to locate her."

Le, 26, vanished during a break from her clinical rotation at the Hayward Kaiser hospital on May 27, 2011. Police located her car parked nearby with blood inside but found no sign of the nursing student. Hayward police are investigating the case as a homicide.
