In the fifth week of East Bay Swim League regular season dual meet action, the Newark Bluefins stunned the Warm Springs Gators with a winning score of 606-417 on Saturday morning, July 9.

Leading the way for the Bluefins in their 606-point effort were Victoria Gero, Isabelle Loai and Allison. Each of the aforementioned swimmers won all four events they took part in, scoring 20 points each. Meanwhile, swimmers Joshua Tsai, Joey Duenas, Johan Reves and Emmanuel Nabemeneh each broke their previous record in the relay with a time of 1:00.47.

As is the case with every week, the Bluefins coaches awarded select swimmers with the Big Tuna Award for improvement or effort. This week, coach Christina chose Viana Chow; coach Teresa handpicked Sarah Crosby; coach Rosey selected Evan McLure; coach Andy picked Fiara Laguno; and coach Crosby named Kaitlyn Cummings.
