The Serra Center Art Workshop is a painting class for developmentally disabled adult clients of Serra Center interested in art. Four men and five women share their love of painting in a 13-week class which began on April 6 at the Olive Hyde Art Center. City of Fremont Art Instructor Haroon Ansary teaches drawing and painting in watercolor and acrylics, advised each student as they created a portfolio of artwork in preparation for an exhibition at the Olive Hyde Art Center. Haroon says the students have been an absolute pleasure to teach; very focused, enthusiastic and have good spirits.
Olive Hyde Art Guild and Serra Center are holding a community reception - ice cream social - to meet the artists and to showcase their artwork on Sunday, July 17 at the Olive Hyde Art Center in the courtyard and Mission Room.
