Japanese Bazaar
This weekend, the Southern Alameda County Buddhist Church in Union City invites everyone to take a quick trip to Japan without the time or expense of air travel. Sounds of Taiko Drums will reverberate throughout the grounds of the church in contrast to delicate and intricate displays of Bonsai plant cultivation. Visitors can visit a calligraphy booth to see their name inscribed in Japanese and browse through a boutique and bookstore.
Don't worry about entertaining the kids; this is a family affair complete with a wide selection of games and plenty of food - American and Japanese - including hot dogs, Teriyaki burgers, corn-on-the-cob, chicken Teriyaki, gyoza, udou, sushi, manju and much more. Don't miss this annual celebration; you will find the words, "Domo arigato" (thank you) on your lips as you leave.
