June 26 At 8:08 p.m. officers were detailed to the area of Olive St and Dairy Ave on a report of a subject firing a handgun into the air. Responding units made contact with Monroe Charles and positively identified him as the shooter. Charles fired three rounds during an argument with his girlfriend in front of his residence (36700 block of Olive St). Officers recovered a handgun and ammunition. Charles was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
At 8:17 p.m. Units arrived at the 37200 block of Walnut Street to investigate a report of a female committing suicide. The female was transported to Eden Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
June 27 Officers were dispatched to 6300 block of Joaquin Murieta Avenue at 8:59 a.m. on a report of an interrupted residential burglary. The suspect was being held at the scene and Officer Johnson subsequently arrested transient Miguel Baraja.
At 10:46 a.m., Officer Revay was dispatched to a hit and run accident that occurred at Cedar and Birch at the dog run backing up to Swiss Park. The suspect vehicle dropped a license plate at the scene. Officer Revay's follow-up led to the arrest of Vicente Mejia at his place of employment. Mejia was booked at Fremont Jail. |
