Revitalizing California's economy
Assemblymember Bob Wieckowski invites the business community to a discussion on revitalizing California's economy. "Job creation and economic development must be at the forefront of California's legislative agenda this year. While California's economy shows signs of improvement, there must be a more aggressive approach to revitalizing its business environment. This is the only way to continue to create good-paying jobs across the state." Special guest Ro Khanna, Deputy Assistant Secretary - U.S. Department of Commerce will participate in the discussion.
California needs a comprehensive plan in order to continue to be seen as a worldwide leader in innovation, technology, and job creation. The plan should provide incentives that encourage businesses to expand, and make California's economy more competitive. This will help attract new business, and will encourage growth in industry and technology.
"Made in California" Jobs Initiative, is a 7-point strategy that includes the following core components necessary to strengthen California's economy:
* Put Small Businesses First
* Support California's Green and Clean Technology Industries
* Renew California's Commitment to Research and Biosciences
* Support California's Family Farms & Agriculture industry
* Encourage growth within California's Film Production & Entertainment Industry
* Reinvest in California's Schools and Universities
* Streamline Government Regulations
