June 24, 2011 > Newark Police Log Newark Police Log Submitted By Commander Bob Douglas, Newark PD June 18 Officers responded at 3:33 p.m. to a hit & run traffic collision that occurred on Cedar Bouelvard. The suspect vehicle was located, abandoned, a block away and determined to be an unreported stolen vehicle from Fremont. Officer Nobbe searched the area and located both the suspect/driver and passenger. Both subjects were positively identified as the occupants of the vehicle by the victim. Jessica Albright of Fremont and Rachel Galarsa of Fremont were arrested. June 21 At 3:50 p.m. Newark PD received a report of an armed robbery in the parking lot of the BJ's restaurant. Although the suspects fled in a vehicle, investigators tracked them to an address on the 6300 block of Escallonia Drive. SWAT from both Newark Police Department and Union City Police Department were used to clear the home believing that a suspect or suspects were still in the home with a firearm. During the investigation Tamara Morris, age 26 of Newark was arrested. Two other suspects in the incident remain at large. The Investigation is ongoing to learn the identity of the two outstanding suspects and further details.
