Tuesday June 21
A large quantity of mail was dumped at Isherwood/Chaplin. CSO Ernst investigated and discovered the mail was stolen from the Casa Arroyo Apartments. The mail items were returned to the Fremont main post office on Dusterberry Way.

A reporting party called to report a gun in the bushes at 40092 Davis St. The item was found to be a pellet gun that resembles a real semi-automatic pistol.

A residential burglary occurred at the 4800 block of Mattos Drive between 7:15a.m. -8:15 a.m. via an unlocked slider door. The reported loss was cash.

A residential burglary occurred at 39800 San Moreno Court during daytime hours. Entry was made via an open bedroom window. The house was ransacked with a reported loss of jewelry, cash, camera and computer equipment, passport, etc. A neighbor advised police of possible related suspect: an adult white female in her 20's, 4'0", wearing a black tank top, black pants, and high heeled shoes came to her door asking for "Richie" (no such person there). About the same time, the neighbor noticed a white 2-door sports car with a spoiler parked nearby. This case was investigated by CSO Gott.

A white female knocked on the door of a home on Morrison Canyon. When the resident answered, the female suspect made up an excuse about looking for her aunt. The resident then realized a white male was in his backyard. Both subjects ran to a white mustang and drove off. This incident wasn't reported until several hours later.


June 22
CSO Aguirre investigated a residential burglary that occurred on the 40100 block of Blanchard. The unknown suspect(s) gained entry through an unlocked bathroom window; the loss was a camera and video game system.

Officer Huiskens responded to the AT&T store, 5030 Mowry Ave., on a report of a grand theft after two male adults entered the store and took two phones. The suspects, black males in their 20's, wearing t-shirts and shorts, were last seen running westbound on Mowry Avenue.

Fremont officers assisted Newark P.D. on a robbery vehicle located at an address on Escallonia Court. Patrol, SCU and a K9 unit responded to assist Newark with containment. Fremont units returned back to the city as Newark SWAT arrived and took over the incident.

Officers were dispatched to an "ascertain the problem" near Lucky's in Brookvale. A citizen called to report a male chasing "kids" in the lot. Officers arrived and determined the male was a victim of a robbery. The suspects fled west toward an apartment complex. Officers located the suspects, who were positively identified by the victim and witness. Four adults and three juveniles were arrested. Investigating Officer(s) are Decker and Carpenter.

Officer Stillitano was near five corners when he noticed a vehicle traveling northbound on Fremont Boulevard at a high rate of speed. Officer Stillitano attempted to catch up to the vehicle, but the vehicle continued to travel at a high rate of speed until it turned eastbound on Eugene. Patrol units checked the area, and located the vehicle abandoned on Vogel Court. The vehicle had been reported stolen in Hayward. Although a perimeter was set up and yards were checked, the suspect, described as a male wearing dark clothes, was not located.

Officer Perry located a stolen vehicle parked at Motel 6 north. Under surveillance, a male and female were arrested as they attempted to drive away. The vehicle was stolen in San Leandro. Parolee Anthony Rhodes (M36) and Irma Mims were arrested. A search of their motel room revealed heroin. The investigation is ongoing.


Thursday June 23
CSO Aguirre responded to 38155 Martha Avenue (medical offices) on a report of vandalism to the building. Upon arrival, it was determined an unknown suspect(s) sprayed painted the office walls and windows with racial slurs, as well as drug and sex references and symbols. The vandalism, which occurred sometime during the nighttime hours, caused about $2,000 in damage to the building.

Officers were dispatched to a report of a burglary in progress at a storage yard near Stevenson Boulevard/Albrae Street. The owner of the storage yard arrived at the business and found the suspect inside a storage container who was, with the assistance of a worker, physically detained until police arrived. The Suspect was arrested for burglary and possession of dangerous drugs.

Officer Stillitano conducted a pedestrian stop near Paseo Padre Parkway and Driscoll Road on a 20 yr old male. Officer Stillitano learned that the subject had committed a petty theft from CVS and was in violation of a court order. He was arrested.

Officer Layfield responded to Cloverleaf Bowl for a disturbance and ultimately arrested a 46 yr old male for public intoxication.

Officer Edwards conducted a traffic stop on Roberts Avenue and arrested a 24 yr old male for driving under the influence.

Officer N. Johnson responded to Walmart on Osgood Road to investigate a commercial burglary. Arrested were three 20 yr olds.

An armed robbery occurred at the 7-11 at Decoto Road and Fremont Boulevard at 11:20 p.m. Three suspected entered and robbed the clerk of money and cigarettes. All three covered their faces with clothing and were armed with pistols. No vehicle was seen. Officer Wilson investigated.
