April 29, 2011 > Suspicious person prompts Rancho Middle lockdown Suspicious person prompts Rancho Middle lockdown Submitted by Officer Gene Smith, Milpitas PD Photo Courtesy of Milpitas PD School administrators put Rancho Middle School on Yellowstone Avenue under lockdown Thursday, April 21 after students reported a suspicious person on school grounds with what they believed to be a gun at about 12:30 p.m. Police found the suspect, later identified as Santino Michael Carucci, a relative of a student, was found in the main office. Officers did not locate any firearm. According to Sergeant Daryl Sequeira, Milpitas PD, a search of Carucci's vehicle revealed a large knife which is illegal to possess on school grounds. Carucci, a 38 year-old, Milpitas resident was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for possession of a weapon on school grounds.
