Suspicious person prompts Rancho Middle lockdown

School administrators put Rancho Middle School on Yellowstone Avenue under lockdown Thursday, April 21 after students reported a suspicious person on school grounds with what they believed to be a gun at about 12:30 p.m. Police found the suspect, later identified as Santino Michael Carucci, a relative of a student, was found in the main office. Officers did not locate any firearm. According to Sergeant Daryl Sequeira, Milpitas PD, a search of Carucci's vehicle revealed a large knife which is illegal to possess on school grounds. Carucci, a 38 year-old, Milpitas resident was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for possession of a weapon on school grounds.
