April 29, 2011 > Newark Crime News Newark Crime News Submitted By Commander Bob Douglas, Newark PD On Saturday, April 23, police responded to a family dispute at a residence on Spruce Street. 20-year-old Yasir Latif was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance. Police found brass knuckles, a handgun and cocaine in his bedroom. Police are looking for a suspect who stole a vehicle from Bridgeport apartment complex on Sunday April 24. The suspect is described as a white male adult in his early twenties with a small goatee. He was armed with a knife. California Highway Patrol Officers later located the vehicle abandoned after a solo-vehicle collision on Highway 237 in Milpitas, the same day.
