Mission Valley United 93 girls Black, a Fremont-based under-17 girls DI soccer team, advanced to the NorCal Premier Soccer League's Semifinals after winning the quarterfinal match-up on Sunday, Feb. 27 - a 1-0 win over CAP FC 93 in Mathers.

MVU took the lead against CAP FC shortly into the first half with a goal from Melissa Heaton on a pass by Megan Ravenscroft. MVU's defense brought their A game and shut down CAP's offense.

Semifinals are scheduled for April 2 in Turlock. In the meantime, the girls will be competing in the Northern California Spring Showcase, held March 5 and 6; CYSA State Cup, on March 19 and 20; and the Nomads Coaches Showcase Tournament in San Diego from March 26 to 28.
