Milpitas Police have arrested a 30-year-old man for robbing a house on Vida Larga Loop near Cielo Lindo Common. Santa Clara resident, Sun Yong Sim used a ruse to gain entry into the victim's residence and then brandishing a knife, tied up a 28-year-old woman.

The incident happened on Thursday, February 17. The suspect rummaged through the victim's residence for over an hour taking items including her cell phone. As the suspect left the residence momentarily, the victim was able to loosen the restraints and contact a family member, who called the Police. Police found the suspect near the residence and he tried to flee after discarding several items. As Police chased him, Sim held a knife to his throat, threatening to harm himself but was arrested without further incident and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
