It's Lilac Time

The Edison Theater will once more take to the skies to celebrate the Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum's tenth anniversary. We will be showing "Lilac Time" (1928, First National) starring Gary Cooper as an English WWI aviator and Colleen Moore as a French farm girl. Romance and spectacular aerial dogfights make this a film not to be missed.
Film Introduction by Jeff Codori, Director of the Colleen Moore Project (colleenmoore.org). In keeping with the aviation theme, we will also be showing "A Dash Through The Clouds" (1912) starring Mabel Normand as an aviation enthusiast who flies to the rescue when her boyfriend is attacked by an angry mob.
Another important short for our museum is the Essanay Snakeville comedy filmed in Niles "Versus Sledge Hammers" (1915) starring Victor Potel, Margaret Joslin, and Harry Todd. Rounding it out will be a Mutt and Jeff cartoon "The Big Swim" (1926).
