Prep soccer stars commit to college
Submitted By Margie
Tuesday, Feb. 2, was national signing night for those high school athletes who committed to go to college under athletic scholarships. Locally, there were a number of soccer stars who signed their letters of intent to play at the next level.
Washington High School senior Paige Diamond and James Logan High School senior Gabriella Stange, who both played for the Pleasanton Rage Soccer premier girls teams, were recognized along with nine other athletes from Pleasanton, Livermore, Castro Valley and San Ramon. Diamond (who ranks as the No. 86 recruit on TopDrawerSoccer.com) committed to the University of Denver, and Stange signed her letter of intent to attend San Jose State University. At SJSU, Stange will join her sister who previously signed a softball scholarship and plays currently.
In addition to the Pleasanton Rage players, a couple girls from the Mustang Soccer Club committed to college. James Logan High School senior Chrisalyn Fonte signed her letter to attend University of Nevada. Fremont native Megan Kufeld (No. 73 recruit on TopDrawerSoccer.com), Mustang SC goalkeeper, committed to University of Washington.
Congratulations to all the student athletes in their achievements.
