Logan High School premiers TAMA drums
Submitted By Rick La Plante
James Logan Percussion Ensemble has been chosen by the TAMA Drum Company to premier its brand new line of marching drums. It is unprecedented that a high school ensemble be chosen as a model for an event such as this, but Logan Percussion's consistent quality and maturity made them a candidate for such an honor.
Recently, the president of the TAMA Company, along with his engineer and local U.S. consultant, were at Logan putting together the new drums and meeting with the students.
The TAMA Drum Company, a Japanese company, has long been known for their superlative drum sets. This year, they are taking a leap into the world of marching percussion and releasing their first generation product.
The official premier of the marching drums will be at a local competition on February 26, at the James Logan High School Pavilion. The JLHS Percussion Ensemble also plans to represent the drums well at World Championships in Dayton, Ohio, this coming April.
