January 14, 2011 > Fremont Elks deliver dictionaries Fremont Elks deliver dictionaries Submitted By Charles Grant For the fifth year, the Fremont Elks lodge No. 2121 distributed dictionaries to third grade students at 51 schools in four school districts: 27 schools in the Fremont Unified School District, seven schools in the Newark Unified School District, eight schools in the Castro Valley Unified School District and nine schools in the San Lorenzo Unified School District. In addition the lodge gave $500 for the purchase of 300 books for Union City's New Haven School District. Lodge Dictionary Chairman Charles Grant noted that a total of 4930 dictionaries were delivered.
