Detours for BART work
Submitted By Janice Adam
On December 20th, the first of 3 temporary vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic detours will take place on Stevenson Blvd between Guardino Drive and immediately east of Civic Center Drive. The temporary detours are necessary to allow for placement of a temporary bridge on Stevenson Blvd.
The alternate route established for the detour is Guardino Drive to Walnut Ave., to Civic Center Drive, to Stevenson Blvd. The Police Department, Dog Park/ Basketball Complex, and Animal Shelter will remain accessible. The closure is expected to last up to 6 hours beginning at 9 a.m. and concluding by 3 p.m.
The work will include, but is not limited to: * Placement of changeable message signs along Stevenson Blvd. * Placement of a temporary bridge and related work * Removal of signs and road clean up
Following installation of the bridge for westbound traffic, a bridge will be installed for eastbound traffic. The remaining two detours for temporary bridge installation will take place in early January of 2011. Look for future notices about these detours.
