Free Energy-Efficient Christmas Lights
Submitted By Taraneh Arhamsadr
The Rising Sun Energy Center is helping everyone to conserve energy and save money this holiday season. A Christmas light swap on Saturday, December 11 at 5:30 p.m. at the Irvington Tree Lighting Ceremony on Bay St. and Fremont Boulevard will encourage participants to exchange incandescent Christmas lights with a 1-watt energy-efficient LED version, free of charge. Energy-efficient fluorescent floor lamps can also be exchanged for halogen floor lamps, known as torchieres. Lights must be exchanged on a bulb-per-bulb basis, with a minimum of 60 bulbs per swap. Both indoor and outdoor seasonal lights may be exchanged. All residents must be PG&E customers and bring a copy of their PG&E bill to participate. |
