Safe Kids acknowledges Officer Kraft

Submitted By Sergeant Kevin Moscuzza, Milpitas PD

The Milpitas Police Department works in partnership with the local chapter of Safe Kids USA to prevent injuries to children and their families by conducting car seat safety inspections. Some officers are certified through Safe Kids as Child Passenger Safety Technicians. Car seat inspections are offered by appointment as a free service to the public. A certified technician can inspect your car seat to determine if it meets current safety standards and to ensure it is installed properly.

On November 16, 2010, the Safe Kids coordinator of Santa Clara County and San Mateo County acknowledged Milpitas Police Officer Dennis Kraft as the top car seat technician for 2010. To daye, during this year, Officer Kraft has completed 140 car seat inspections.

To determine if a car seat is the right size for your child and if it is properly installed, please call the Milpitas Police Department at (408) 586-2400 to schedule an appointment. Day and evening appointments are available. The Milpitas Police Department is also proud to offer this free service in Spanish as well as English.
