Newark resident places 3rd in world competition

The American Kennel Club(r) is pleased to announce that the AKC/USA Agility World Team has returned home with an Individual Silver Medal from the 2010 FCI Agility World Championships. Team Members Channan Fosty and her Border Collie "Icon" of Newark, CA placed 7th in the World in Large Dog Team Combined (with teammates Terry Smorch & Presto and Ann Braue & Scream), 2nd in Large Dog Team Agility (with teammates Terry Smorch & Presto and Ann Braue & Scream) and 3rd in Team Agility Large Dog.
Held October 1-3 in Rieden, Germany, the Agility World Championships were attended by more than 300 dog and handler pairs from over 34 countries. The AKC/USA Team sent 12 competitors to Germany, comprising Small, Medium and Large Dog teams. Over the three days, AKC/USA team members completed two team runs and two individual runs.
