October 12, 2010 > MVU tops Strikers, stays unbeaten MVU tops Strikers, stays unbeaten Submitted By Ellie Orr On Saturday, Oct. 9, Mission Valley United U-13 girls soccer team had a very tough victory over the Menlo Strikers. Struggling in the first 15 minutes --- falling back 1-0 on the scoreboard ---- of the match MVU finally got their rhythm. Receiving a pass from Alana Diaz, Haley Yuen blasted the ball in the top left corner, tying the game. Along came the second half and the team played better than before. A pass from Alex Farhangui put Kirsten Wong had a break away and she took a left-footed shot into the bottom right corner, giving MVU the lead. The whistle blew just a minute later and MVU remained undefeated in league games.
