Feast your eyes on an enormous selection of books from old classics to the newest best-sellers, including cookery books, art books, science fiction, non-fiction, science, history, westerns, romances, references books, encyclopedias, bibles, health and more. Friends of the Hayward Public Library will present an October Book Fest on Friday, October 15 and Saturday, October 16 on the second floor meeting room of the Hayward Main Library, 835 C Street. All proceeds benefit the Hayward Public Library.
Regularly scheduled book sales, organized by the Friends of the Library, occur on the second and fourth Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hayward Farmers' Market on the corner of Watkins and C Streets. Larger events, such as the October Book Fest, are held periodically during the year.
Friends of the Library always welcome book donations which can be left at the Main Library during business hours, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Monday thru Wednesday) and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Thursday thru Saturday). The library is closed on Sundays and major holidays.
For additional information, contact the Main Library at (510) 293-8685 or Weekes Branch Library at (510) 782-2155.
