Identity theft A Milpitas resident received mail notice saying she owed money to IRS from a company she had not worked at. The company, located in Irving, Texas had the victim listed as a former employee; another person had been using the Milpitas resident's identification information while working at company in Texas. The Victim who received notice reported identity theft to Milpitas Police Department. The case is under investigation and may be referred to local authorities in Texas for completion.
Electricity theft 47-year-old suspect was arrested for stealing electrical power from the owner of an apartment complex located on 300 block San Miguel in Milpitas. The subject had redirected wiring system out of a laundry room area to his apartment, from 2008 until 2010. Electricity theft was reported by apartment management to Milpitas Police in March 2010. An investigation was conducted whereby the rewiring was discovered.
Shoplifting at Great Mall A 14-year-old female girl selected $581 worth of clothing at Kohl's Great Mall. She took clothes into a changing room and when she exited the changing room, loss detention personnel observed that she had a shopping bag in hand that contained the clothes. On leaving the store, she was intercepted by store security and turned over to Milpitas PD.
Burglary A suspect broke the window to gain entry to Pasta Pomodoro located at 181 Ranch Drive. A laptop computer, computer case, eyeglasses were stolen among $1,000 worth of items at. No suspect description is available; the case is under investigation.
