August 3, 2010 > The sweet music of summer continues The sweet music of summer continues Afternoon and evening concerts in local parks is one of the welcome attractions of summer in our corner of the world. Every week, music - from brash and bossy sounds to gentle, soothing ballads - captures moments of pleasure for those willing to settle on a chair or blanket to enjoy warm breezes and the unique ambience of the Southeast Bay Area. Each city has its own venue and lineup of performers but they all share a common theme, music is for everyone and summertime is the right time for an afternoon or evening gathering to relax outdoors with friends and neighbors. Although some cities have completed their series of concerts this summer, it is not too late to catch a few more before thoughts of fall happenings dominate. This week Fremont (Central Park and Niles), Union City, Hayward and Milpitas continue concert series performances for summer 2010. Due to budget considerations, Newark suspended its popular Music at the Grove this year. Look in TCV "It's A Date" for the latest information of genre, time and location.
