Its time for everyone to pull out their cowboy boots, hats and chaps to dress up for Hayward's Street Parties "Wild, Wild, West" Thursday, July 15. To complete the look, Hayward Chamber of Commerce will be decorating "B" Street, complete with hay bales and all.
Now celebrating its 11th year, these events have become a Hayward tradition with fun and free entertainment for the entire family. Hayward's historic downtown hosts this event. Surrounded by buildings that have been around for decades, the street parties are a perfect combination of young and old to liven up the community during the summer months.
Street parties are organized by the Hayward Chamber of Commerce and the City of Hayward, along with a collaboration of local merchants. "At least three live bands, a soda, beer and wine garden and a play area will be at each event," says Brian Schott, executive president and CEO of the Hayward Chamber of Commerce. "We will also have over eighty booths and food vendors."
As for all you car lovers, a classic car show featuring antique automobiles and hot rods, will line Main Street from "A" Street to "C" Street. "The car show will feature classic cars sponsored by Vic Hubbard Auto Supply," says Schott.
Visitors can find parking at a structure on Foothill Boulevard between "B" and "C" streets and another one on Mission Boulevard between "B" and "C" streets and a Municipal parking lot on "A" Street between Foothill and Main. One of the most convenient ways is to take BART to the Hayward Station, just a short walk from downtown.
Hayward Street Parties Thursday, July 15 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. "B" Street from Foothill to Mission Boulevard, Hayward (510) 537-2424
