Memorial film tribute to "Echo"

The midnight patrol Tent of the Sons of the Desert, an international society dedicated to the appreciation and preservation of vintage comedy films, in collaboration with The Niles Essanay Silent Museum and Edison Theater, will be conducting a memorial film tribute to honor the memory and work of Dorothy 'Little Echo" Deborba-Habereitter, one of the original members of director Hal Roach's groundbreaking "Our Gang/Little Rascals" film series.
The early comedy star passed away on June 2nd, this year in Walnut Creek at the age of 85. Three classic Our gang/Little Rascals "Talkies" in which she appeared will be screened at the Edison Theater in Niles on Sunday, July 11 a 4 p.m. An hour before the film program, an informative presentation about Dorothy, her life and her career, as well as her longtime participation as an honored member of the Sons of the Desert, will be hosted by the Midnight Patrol Tent. Both the presentation and program are open to the public.
