Bill Mancebo's Player Spotlight
This week the player spotlight lights up Grayson Granzella.
With a full focus on football and just finished with his eighth grade studies at Sunol Glen Jr. High; Granzella just can't wait for his first full contact on the grid iron at a high school level.
After two years of studying the logistics of the game in the Fremont Football League while playing nose guard, Grayson will soon put his skills to the test at Moreau Catholic High in Hayward come this autumn.
Using intense weight lifting with his brother and dad incorporated with basketball for agility and swimming to increase endurance he will attack his passion for sprinting and hitting in the sport of football very soon.
Grayson says that he will miss the great times at Sunol Glen including studying under the Jefferies sisters, who are both instructors there, but it's time to for new challenges. History has been a favorite subject with Mrs. and Ms. Jefferies whom have taught him well but he's thinking that his prowess in the pool as a swimmer might earn him a scholarship in the years to come.
With the education that he earns while aiming towards criminology, Granzella hopes to find a slot in professional football hopefully as an Oakland Raider or San Francisco 49er to fulfill his dream in becoming a career athlete. If that doesn't work out he wishes to deliver his contributions to better society and become a Fremont police officer.
When he finds a little time Grayson likes to play video games, hang out with his friends or just watch TV. His food list is quite simple and it's just potatoes. He'll take them any way or every way as his latest birthday wish was to be served a potato smorgasbord with them cooked up as many ways as possible. There's only one dessert for him though and that will always be chocolate cream pie.
