Milpitas summer concert series

Submitted By the City of Milpitas

Milpitas Parks and Recreation Services has lined up another hot summer concert series to compliment warm summer evenings.

On June 22, the definitive workingman's band Bruce Guynn & Big Rain is scheduled to perform at Murphy Park on Yellowstone, off S. Park Victoria Drive. The band brings an award-winning brand of rock, country rock, blues and more to the stage for some heartfelt boot tapping fun. The breadth of their musical repertoire also pays tribute to many famous and well-known artists and songs of last 50 years.

Orquesta Borinquen, one of the top desired choices for salsa music in the SF Bay Area will perform at the Cardoza Park on Kennedy Drive, off S. Park Victoria Drive. The group, one of the busiest salsa bands in the Bay Area, will keep the temperature rising during the twilight hours.

On July 27, the Hit Waves, a 12-piece power house, high-energy party dance band, will perform at the Pinewood Park on Greenwood, off Fallen Leaf Drive. The group will take listeners on a musical journey from the 60's all the way to today's hits! Hit Waves will inspire dancing and singing no matter what age - young, old, or anywhere in between.

The last of the concert series will be on August 10 at City Hall (Civic Center Flag Area) by Jessica Johnson, a young jazz singer who has continued to amaze listeners across the state. She will be releasing her second album this summer. This will be an incredible finale to the summer concert series!
