On a mostly overcast morning on Saturday, June 19, the East Bay Swim League Warm Springs Gators swim team walked into the Highlands Swim Club on Palm Avenue in Fremont.
Highlands is the wonderfully gracious home of the Sharks EBSL swim team, this would be the 19th annual dual meet between these two teams early in the dual-meet season for the storied East Bay Swim League. The Highlands Club was decorated for a beach-themed event; the Sharks coach and even their pool manager were dressed up in the spirit.
The weather was rather cool most of the morning until the sun broke out for good around 11 a.m. The cool weather must have scared the Gators because those Highlands Sharks got the most of the Gators, winning handily, 600-445. Nice Meet Sharks. Thanks to the Highlands Swim Club for such a warm welcome.
The Gators next dual meet is on Saturday morning, June 26, at the Warm Springs Cabana Club (WSCC). The WSCC is where the Gators rent the pool for their team functions and practice including this coming Saturdays meet against the cross-town Kennedy Seals swim team.
WSCC is located at 251 Golden Rain Ave. in the Warm Springs District of Fremont. WSCC asks, "Please do not send any mail for the Gators Swim Team to this address." The pool at WSCC is the only six-lane, 25-yard pool located within Warm Springs and the Gators are so lucky to use it.
The swim meet festivities and competition start promptly at 8 a.m., and should last until approximately noon time.
